Program Description

Event Details

In the next several months, Hoosiers will be able to witness not one, but TWO solar eclipses!  Dan McGlaun, eclipse enthusiast and manager of the eclipse2024.org website, will share information about the October 14 annular and April 8, 2024 total eclipses.  What should you expect?  How do they differ?  How might the 2024 Great North American Eclipse impact our community?

This program is open to all ages.  Dan has travelled internationally and experienced 15 solar eclipses in his lifetime.  He'll share his adventures, tips on eclipse viewing, and demonstrate the Eclipse Simulator to give us an idea of where to look and what to expect for each solar event.  After the presentation, he will be on hand to answer questions from community members, as well as business people and public safety officials, to help us all prepare for a memorable and safe once-in-a-lifetime experience!
