Program Description

Event Details

Weaving has been an art form for centuries and it has many forms and materials used to create it.  This 4-session project (9/3, 9/5, 9/10, 9/12) involves the creation of an artwork that contains our memories.  You may bring in cloth, buttons, old jewelry, medals and anything else that you would like to incorporate into the piece.  We will have fun learning the weaving process.  Resident fiber artist Gene Bayless will share his knowledge and love for weaving with you as Terri Gavin instructs you in the basic skills.  Everyone will work at their own pace; the point is to relax and enjoy the process as you learn.  You will leave with a project that has special memories attached that can be shared with loved ones.  THIS EVENT IS FOR AGES 60+.

This is part of the Connecting with Art at the Sugar Creek Art Center program for senior adults.
