Mosaic Art: Beauty From The Broken

Mosaics are one of the earliest art forms and can be seen at the ruins of Pompeii as well as many other cultures.  Today’s mosaics are practical as well as beautiful.  During this 4-session event (9/17, 9/19, 9/24, 9/26) we will be creating steppingstones and coasters during the class.  Like weaving, mosaics can include memories.  Art Instructor Terri Gavin has used broken dishes, small toy figures, buttons, and even coins to create past projects.  You will also have the option to include memories in your design, if so desired.  These will be artworks that can be used every day and bring a special touch to your home or garden.  THIS EVENT IS FOR AGES 60+.
